2 Area bridges dedicated to fallen Caroline Troopers

Trooper Robert Lohr Trooper Robin Farmer
On Saturday, October 4, 2008, 2 bridges in Caroline County were renamed in honor of 2 Virginia Troopers assigned to Caroline who died in the line of duty.
The Route 207 bridge over Interstate 95 was renamed the Trooper Robert Tinsley Lohr Memorial Bridge. The Route 639 bridge over Interstate 95 was renamed the Trooper Robin Lee Farmer Memorial Bridge.

The idea for the signs came from local resident Roger Cavendish, who approached Sheriff Lippa and Board of Supervisors Chairman Floyd Thomas. Delegate Chris Peace and Bobby Orrock sponsored legislaion to rename the bridges.
Present at the unveiling were members of both trooper's families. Words of celebration for the lives of these 2 individuals were spoken by Floyd Thomas, Lt. Col. M. W. Hall of the Caroline Sheriff's Office, Secretary of Public Safety the Honorable John Marshall, and Lt. Col. Bobby Northern from the Virginia State Police.
Both families were presented with resolutions honoring the service of their trooper family members and the actual signs that will be placed on 207 and on 639 were unveiled.

Teri Farmer Rosemond, widow of Trooper Farmer, is shown unveiling the sign that will be placed on Route 639 over Interstate 95 in honor of her husband. With her are her husband, Trooper Chip Rosemond, Board of Supervisors Chairman Floyd Thomas and Mr. Roger Cavendish.
