How Can We Help Find Your Loved ones?
Your Caroline County Sheriff's Office is seeking corporate, civic organizations and citizens to assist us in continuing to fund a new and exciting project. Project Lifesaver is a service that utilizes a small transmitter that is worn by Alzheimer's patients, Down Syndrome children, or other citizens who are in danger of wandering. By forming partnerships with local law enforcement and public safety organizations, Project Lifesaver deploys specially trained teams with the most reliable technology available to quickly locate and return wandering adults and children to their families and caregivers.
Proven Radio Technology and Rescue Team
Project Lifesaver relies on proven radio technology and a specially trained search and rescue team. Clients that are enrolled in the Project Lifesaver program wear a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal. When caregivers notify the Caroline Sheriff's Office that the Project Lifesaver client is missing, a team of highly trained search and rescue deputies responds to the wanderer's area and starts searching with the mobile locater tracking system. Nationwide, search times have been reduced from hours and days to minutes. In over 1200 searches, there have been no reported serious injuries or deaths, and a 100% recovery rate to date!. Recovery times for Project Lifesaver participants average less than 30 minutes.
Highly Trained Teams
Project Lifesaver will train your deputies not only in search and rescue and the use of the electronic tracking equipment, but also in the methods necessary to communicate with a person who has Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. Locating the individual is only part of the mission. The person who is located will be disoriented, anxious, and untrusting. The Project Lifesaver trained team knows how to approach the person, gain their trust and put them at ease for the trip home.
